Official Nemeton of the Ways
Land Relationship Acknowledgement
In a spirit of inclusivity and compassion, The Nemeton of the Ways and all Her Seeds, acknowledge that it was founded upon exclusions and erasures of many Indigenous peoples, including the Kanienʼkehá, Muh-he-con-neok, and Haudenosaunee Confederacy Peoples whose land our Mother Grove grows.
Farther west, the Nemeton of the Cervidae community along with the Labyrinth of the Ways and Wandering Ways sacred sites, reside on the current and traditional lands of the Hopewell, Myaamia, Shawandasse Tula (Shawanwaki/Shawnee), Kaskaskia, Adena, 𐓏𐒰𐓓𐒰𐓓𐒷 𐒼𐓂𐓊𐒻 𐓆𐒻𐒿𐒷 𐓀𐒰^𐓓𐒰^(Osage), and Haudenosaunee Confederacy Peoples.
Farthest west, the Stone Circle of Treibh na Tintean sacred site stands on the current and traditional lands of the Kiikaapoi (Kickapoo), Peoria, Kaskaskia, Bodéwadmiakiwen (Potawatomi), Myaamia, and the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ (Sioux) Peoples.
Our Nemeta acknowledge that we gather on current and traditional lands of many Indigenous communities who currently call these lands home, lands of communities unknown and erased, and lands that future generations will continue to need to fight for against continued colonisation. Arms linked together, we recognise Indigneous sovereignty in the spirit of a deeper friendship, collective liberation, and right-relationship; honouring the reclamation of everything stolen from the original Peoples, and to truly dismantle white supremacy and systemic racism. Like a web, we affirm that we are strengthened by our relationships to the living Earth and each other, recreating sanctuary together every day.
